How can teachers find teaching jobs in Shiraz, Iran?
By submitting an application form to institutes. Normally they have to go to the location and ask if they need a teacher.
The main English teaching jobs available are:
Full time English language school positions, part time English language school positions, teaching at kindergartens / pre-schools, private teaching (not through a school, agency, etc.)
What are the minimum teaching requirements?
You have to be fluent in English. Being a native speaker is an advantage.
What teaching requirements would you recommend?
Teaching experience and a degree in teaching is a plus.
What are the levels of payment?
At least 1US$ per hour for Iranian teachers. Ofcourse it will be more for foreginers.
How many teaching days a week is normal?
Normally its 2 days a week, but there are 3 days or 5 days a week courses.
How many face-to-face teaching hours a week is normal?
4 hours hours per week.
What is the normal arrangement for holidays?
Fridays, Nowrouz, and religious holidays.
What advice would you give to someone considering coming to Shiraz, Iran to teach English?
Be creative and learn about the culture first. It may be different in here.
