Fun ESL Halloween classroom activity

Try this spooky “Halloween walk” game to get students listening and speaking using Halloween words.

Have students from a line on one side of the classroom. Hold up a Halloween flashcard or picture and ask what it is and students have to reply, e.g. “It’s a ghost”. Then say, “Ok, float like a ghost!” and students have to get from one side of the room to the other in that style. You can give points for the best impressions. Other round ideas: fly like a bat, roll like a pumpkin, creep like a cat, walk like a skeleton, stomp like a monster.
