Going to language institutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The main English teaching jobs available are:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Part time English language school positions, agencies (send teachers to different locations), private teaching (not through a school, agency, etc.).<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the minimum teaching requirements?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Advanced to native English level. a TEFL certificate is recommended.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What teaching requirements would you recommend?<\/strong><br \/>\nI recommend being flexible with the schedule. It&#8217;s not easy to find a M-G 9-5pm position.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the levels of payment?<\/strong><br \/>\nAbout $80 pesos (US$9) per hour if you work for an institute. if you work privately, the hour is about $150 pesos (US$17).<\/p>\n<p><strong>How many teaching days a week is normal?<\/strong><br \/>\n4-5 days per week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How many face-to-face teaching hours a week is normal?<\/strong><br \/>\n8-12 hours per week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the normal arrangement for holidays?<br \/>\n<\/strong>No classes offered during vacation time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What advice would you give to someone considering coming to\u00a0Cordoba, Argentina to teach English?<\/strong><br \/>\nI enjoy teaching here. it&#8217;s not my reason for moving to Argentina, but there are plenty of people wanting to learn here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the positive aspects of teaching English in Cordoba, Argentina?<\/strong><br \/>\nI work for myself, and have geared my business towards children, I love teaching the children. My students go to a bilingual school, so i am simply reinforcing what they learn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the negative aspects for teaching English in Cordoba, Argentina?<\/strong><br \/>\nBy teaching private lessons, students can cancel or stop taking classes at any time. I suggest charging per month.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are some of the teaching challenges for English teachers teaching the local people in your area?<\/strong><br \/>\nInflation causes students to cut back on costs, i.e., extra classes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Living in Cordoba, Argentina:<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Are there any visa or other legal requirements to live in Argentina?<\/strong><br \/>\nNo, but a workers visa helps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the cost of living like in Argentina?<\/strong><br \/>\nAbout US$1,000 per month with rent\/food\/etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the usual accommodation arrangements and how can you find accommodation?<br \/>\n<\/strong>You can do a shared living, rent an apartment or house.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other than teaching, what positive aspects are there for living in Cordoba, Argentina?<br \/>\n<\/strong>College is free.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other than teaching, what negative aspects are there for living in Cordoba, Argentina?<\/strong><br \/>\nInflation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What advice would you give to someone considering coming to Cordoba, Argentina?<\/strong><br \/>\nDo your research!.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What things do you miss most (other than family and friends) from your home country?<\/strong><br \/>\nI miss the food from California.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you think you will miss most when (or if) you leave Argentina?<br \/>\n<\/strong>I will miss teaching English and of course, weekend bbqs (asados).<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What things would you recommend to new teachers in your area to bring with them from their home country?<\/strong><br \/>\nEverything is extremely expensive here in relation to the USD.
