Many teachers meet there for drinks after 19:00 hours<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the positive aspects of teaching English in Loei, Thailand?<\/strong><br \/>Plenty of work, grateful and eager students and cooperative parents, stressless life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the negative aspects for teaching English in Loei, Thailand?<\/strong><br \/>Level of spoken English in society is extremely low.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are some of the teaching challenges for English teachers teaching the local people in your area?<\/strong><br \/>You do have to learn to speak basic Thai, also to read and write it as well.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Living in Loei, Thailand:<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Are there any visa or other legal requirements to live in Thailand?<\/strong><br \/>You need a business visa or non &#8220;o&#8221; (based on marriage).<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the cost of living like in Thailand?<\/strong><br \/>Approx 30,000 baht (US$940) for single, 50,000 baht (US$1,570) for a couple.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the usual accommodation arrangements and how can you find accommodation?<br \/><\/strong>There are no arrangements.\u00a0 Drive around and ask around. Many houses for rent between 4000 and 8000 baht (US$125-250).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other than teaching, what positive aspects are there for living in Loei, Thailand?<br \/><\/strong>Laid back, friendly people, sunny climate, good food.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other than teaching, what negative aspects are there for living in Loei, Thailand?<\/strong><br \/>Hardly any cultural life up in the North East of Thailand.\u00a0 Visa and work-permit hassle \u2013 burocracy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What advice would you give to someone considering coming to Loei, Thailand?<\/strong><br \/>Do your homework, and do not try anything illegal.
