There are a lot of opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The main English teaching jobs available are:<br \/><\/strong>Full time English language school positions, part time English language school positions, agencies (send teachers to different locations), teaching at kindergartens \/ pre-schools, teaching at state schools, teaching at private international schools, teaching at colleges \/ universities, teaching at companies, teaching at community centers, etc., private teaching (not through a school, agency, etc.).<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the minimum teaching requirements?<\/strong><br \/>Speaking English language fluently and experience. Sometimes diplomas are required but they don&#8217;t really check.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What teaching requirements would you recommend?<\/strong><br \/>A TEFL diploma.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the levels of payment?<br \/><\/strong>It goes from 25\u20ac to 50\u20ac per hour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How many teaching days a week is normal?<\/strong><br \/>4-5 days per week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the normal arrangement for holidays?<\/strong><br \/>We have school holidays every 6 weeks for 2 weeks, then a long summer holiday. Parents like putting kids in an English speaking summer camp for the vacation holidays.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What advice would you give to someone considering coming to Paris, France to teach English?<\/strong><br \/>Be patient and tolerant. French people can sometimes be annoying!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the positive aspects of teaching English in Paris, France?<\/strong><br \/>Motivated and enthusiastic students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the negative aspects for teaching English in Paris, France?<\/strong><br \/>Annoying parents of these motivated students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are some of the teaching challenges for English teachers teaching the local people in your area?<\/strong><br \/>Competition (for teaching work).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Living in Paris, France:<\/h4>\n<p><strong>What is the cost of living like in France?<\/strong><br \/>Depends where you live. Paris suburbs are less expensive than Paris. Going out can be expensive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How can you find accommodation?<br \/><\/strong>Agencies, newspapers, internet\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Local private schools help you to find a place but you will pay the rent.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other than teaching, what positive aspects are there for living in Paris, France?<\/strong><br \/>Beautiful country, great food, good pay, and large English speaking community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other than teaching, what negative aspects are there for living in Paris, France?<\/strong><br \/>Sometimes you meet unfriendly people, but that&#8217;s everywhere I guess!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What advice would you give to someone considering coming to Paris, France to live?<\/strong><br \/>Find the English or American community as soon as you can. You will need their support.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What things do you miss most (other than family and friends) from your home country?<\/strong><br \/>Friendly service in stores and restaurants.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What things would you recommend to new teachers in your area to bring with them from their home country (e.g. things that are difficult to get in your location)?<br \/><\/strong>Nothing. Everything you need is here. Perhaps books in English.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you think you will miss most when (or if) you leave Paris, France?<\/strong><br \/>I have a family here so I don&#8217;t plan on leaving.<br \/>I would miss the beautiful countryside and Paris, and great food!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>About Me and My Work:<\/h4>\n<p><strong>My Name<\/strong>: Angie<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nationality<\/strong>: French\/American<\/p>\n<p><strong>Students I&#8217;ve taught in France<\/strong>: Pre-school \/ kindergarten (4-6 years), elementary (6-12 years), junior high school (12-15 years), high school (15-18 years), adults, business.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where I teach<\/strong>: Different public schools and an association, and I&#8217;m also freelance.
